Just before bed, Colby gets wound up and then crashes for the next 12-13 hours. Here's a video of him going crazy to "Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes." He is watching me do the motions and is good to copy me when we sing it together and go slow but when the doggie toy sings it, he can't keep up!

Kissing His Friends!
Colby is kissing on his friends! Maybe I kiss on him so much and he is mimicking my behavior or he is just an affectionate little toddler. Whatever the reason I couldn't resist these moments.
Hugging on Justin.
I told Colby he better watch out. With two of them, they are going double up on him when they get a little bigger!
Here's group shot from a play date we had earlier this week. Alex, Justin, Colby and Jacob. Alex and Colby have the exact same birthday. And of course so do Justin and Jacob!
Colby giving Tucker some love.
Kissing mommy before going "night-night."

Watching Planes!
The following weekend, Jason went with us to see what the fuss was all about!
This is Colby's sign for airplane, hand pointed to the sky. Of course you have to hear the sound effects in person that accompany this sign.
Just hanging out on the side of the road. Heiselman Blvd., between the Beach Line and the Greenway, the perfect spot for viewing take-offs.

Cape Canaveral Beach
Last weekend we decided to take a late afternoon trip to the beach. We ran errands in the morning, came home for lunch and Colby's nap, and then headed to Cape Canaveral Beach around 4:30. The last time we were at the beach was 7 months ago in September! We only live about 25 miles from the coast. I guess that's what happens when you work and the weekends are filled with errands and obligations.
The little beach bum.
Pointing out daddy.
A walk down the beach. He ran from the water whenever it crept too close to his feet.

Our Day
I spend the work week counting down to the weekend and then when the weekend comes and goes, I wonder where it went or what did we do? Well, I began documenting our day today...
I woke up at 7:30 AM and finished watching last night's Dateline on TIVO while eating a bowl of cereal. I started some laundry, had some coffee while I caught up on-line. Finally, at 9:40, I begin to hear some noise on the monitor. The camera was on the night stand, so I decided to snap a picture of him waking up with the time on the clock. He usually rises at 8:30 during the week and around this time on the weekends!
I popped into his room before he was even standing-up. If we wait too long, he throws everything out of his crib. I love getting him up on the weekends, since this is usually daddy's ritual during the work week.Diaper Change:
Oh, no the gel-pack on the Luv's diapers exploded! He had gel beads from his arm-pits to his knee-caps. Hmmm, why was his diaper so full? Let's see, oh yes, Daddy was on duty last night because I was helping at the school carnival. I came home to Colby drinking chocolate milk! (I've refrained from giving him anything chocolate.) And he was drinking it from a bottle! We've been working on phasing out the bottles. Apparently Colby was refusing to drink his milk, so Jason offered the bottle and when that didn't go over, he added Hershey's syrup! Well, of course he loved it and asked for MORE!
Off to the bath-tub we go!
Colby notices the little trike on the porch and wants to go outside. The trike belongs to our babysitter, Angela. He saw it in her garage as we were leaving on Friday, and pitched a fit when I wouldn't let him ride it so she let us borrow it for the weekend. He loves sitting on it and trying to make it move, Fred Flinstone style.
He returns to the porch looking for his trike and finds his pool floaty. I figured that a soak in the spa would be a good distraction so we get dressed in our swimsuits. I do a diaper check and he is good to go in. Colby checks the temperature. He loves to push the control panel buttons!
Colby is a happy boy again. We sing and splash and blow bubbles. The temperature is 100 degrees. We stay in for about 10 minutes.
Another diaper explosion from the Luv's gel beads! We go outside to change the diaper. I yell for Jason to bring me a diaper. Colby is now streaking through the backyard and running up and down the ramp of the shed in his birthday suite. I yell to Jason again but find out he is washing Tucker in the kitchen sink. So I quickly run inside and upstairs to get a diaper.
Colby no longer let's me feed him. He wants to do it himself. I suppose I should encourage it, but for convenience and cleanliness, I usually liked to feed him. It takes longer and he gets very messy when he does it himself.
At last, it is nap-time! I put him down; he always goes down easily for "night-night." I check on him on the monitor and snap another picture. It is 12:39.
Free Time:
I put a frozen pizza in the oven. While it cooks, I catch up again on the computer. I blog about his Easter Egg hunting pictures. Eat lunch and continue to be on-line. The weather is beautiful, so I feel guilty about being inside on the computer. I still have my suite on from the spa so I grab my book and beach chair and head to the back yard.
3:00 I come inside and hear Colby and Jason playing upstairs. I take a shower.
Jason and Colby are still playing upstairs so I go and see what they are up to. They are reading a book, Tucker included! We all continue to play.
We go back outside and swing and slide. Jason joins us and throws the ball and Colby runs after it. Jason begins to prepare for the sandbox project by killing off the patch of grass under the swing-set clubhouse with Round-Up.
Jason decides to take Colby for a walk in the stroller down to the golf course. They like to putt balls at the putting green. Yea, I can finally tackle a work project, Sunshine State Books Jeopardy PowerPoint game!
Next is dinner, and then bedtime. Colby goes down with no problem at 8:45.
A lot of nothing for today. Maybe tomorrow we will get out of the house and run some errands.

Hunting for Easter Eggs!
Colby had a great time looking for Easter eggs on Sunday morning. I woke up early, around 7:00 AM, and had fun hiding the eggs. Then I made some coffee, and read the paper while I ate some breakfast. I waited, and waited; there were no signs of either of my boys until 9:45! I should start taking advantage of this time in the mornings.
Finally, he is up. We put on shoes and handed him his empty basket. He ran outside and knew just what to do!
Stopping mid-hunt to point out a plane flying over head.
Daddy, help me! I've fallen in the wet grass and can't reach this egg.
Colby in action!
Scrambled Eggs!
