Colby has been interested in a little bike for awhile. The babysitter has one at her house and she let us borrow it over spring break. He hasn’t figured out the pedals and just pushes it along with his feet. If you try to help him, he gets really mad. He wants to do it himself.
While at Target last night, we walked down the bike aisle and Colby began shouting “BIKE”” with such enthusiasm over and over again while pointing. We saw a little Radio Flyer tricycle that has a push handle. (When you push it the pedals disengage.) We tried it out in the store and it was a hit. It was also a scene when he had to pry him off of it and place him back in the cart. We told him we were getting it and to calm him down but it was in a box and didn’t look like what he was just sitting on.
When we got home Jason went to work assembling it. Colby knows when we ride on my big bike with him in the baby seat, he wears a helmet. He began patting his head and saying “hat.” So I got the helmet and he bowed down for me to strap it on. Then he went back to being daddy’s assistant. After Colby kept walking off with the tool Jason needed, I decided to take him inside and give him his bath so Jason could finish up.
The bike has a little bell on the handle bars, which he figured out how to ring.
Time to go inside for bed. Colby wasn't thrilled about his ride ending. He kept telling us more!
